When you post a provocative picture of your appearance on Instagram or TikTok, hundreds of thousands of people like it. This kind of experience distorts the reward system of an immature adolescent, rendering it similar to the brain of a drug addict that cannot find satisfaction without continuous stimulation.

 

When teenagers, who have decades of life ahead of them, develop such a brain, they struggle with the inability to find happiness in life.

 

Suicidal acts among female adolescents have recently increased at an alarming rate. For those with an 'Instagram reward brain,' where receiving attention is taken for granted, the painful reality of craving social attention even after committing suicide is becoming increasingly common.

 

Living with a brain that craves constant stimulation is an agonizing reality.
